Putting your best self out there on YouTube is never easy and the #fail moments can be lots of fun!  Michael Leckie, Founding Partner of Silverback Partners, consultant, advisor, coach, and speaker, shows you all the mess ups that went into just creating one short introductory video.  Starring mumbling, muttering nonsense, tripping over your own tongue, and friendly flying insects.  As the great 20th century philosopher, Cher, said, "If you're not willing to risk looking foolish you'll never achieve greatness!"  Enjoy!

I hope you and those around you are well and happy during these still difficult times.  It seems like we could all use a laugh.  While I have been on stages and speaking publicly for years (and people seem to think I’m pretty OK at doing it) it doesn’t mean that I know what I am doing, LOL!  When my marketing guru @Feisworld asked me for a “simple intro video” for my YouTube channel I thought, “Well that’ll be easy!” 

Right.

We decided that the best thing to do with all the mess ups was to share them.  First, it might be fun just to watch them.  But, second, it’s important for us all to remember that no one excels the first time, it just isn’t the way of the world.  And doing it right the first time doesn’t matter.  Put yourself out there, have fun, mess up, and mess up again and again.  You will find your groove and you will get better.  If we all showed our mistakes, failures, foolishness, and were vulnerable enough to show what learning takes, wouldn’t it make it easier for everyone else? 

If you’re a winner, show when you lose.  If people see you as a bit super-human, show them that you’re actually just human.  We find comfort in our mutual imperfections, don’t hide them!
